The Brazilian men’s football team arrived this Sunday (12) in Tokyo, where they will face hosts Japan on Tuesday (14), at 7:30 am (Brasília time). The preparatory game for the 2026 World Cup will be the last against Asian teams. Last Friday (10), Brazil defeated South Korea 5-0 in Seoul. Later this year, Brazil will face teams from the African continent (Senegal and Tunisia). The forecast is that in the first half of 2026 Brazil will face European opponents, which have not yet been defined.
Before the trip, the team trained this morning in Goyang (South Korea), under the command of coach Carlo Ancelotti. On Monday (13), at 4pm, the team will have their last training session at Tokyo Stadium – also known as Ajinomoto Stadium – before the match against the home team.
Olympic champion at the Tokyo Games with the number 10 shirt of the Under 23 team, Richarlison collects good memories of the Asian country. In addition to winning Brazil’s second Olympic gold in men’s football, the striker finished as the Games’ top scorer with five goals scored. The champion team also had Matheus Cunha, Bruno Guimarães and Gabriel Martinelli also available to Ancelotti in Tuesday’s clash (14) against the Japanese.

Current number 9 of the main team, Richarlison expects another good performance from Amarelinha: in the first of the two FIFA Data friendlies, Brazil played on the field against the South Koreans and received praise from the Italian coach.
“We have to show the same intensity as in the game against Korea. We already have the coach’s trust, so it’s time to put into practice what we trained and have a good game”, said Richarlison. “When the coach gives you confidence, you work more calmly and things start to flow more. I hope to repay the confidence they give me on the field”, concluded the 28-year-old striker, who plays for Tottenham (England) in the Premier League.
