Ten Chinese cinematographic productions still unreleased in Brazil will be presented at the tenth edition of the Chinese Cinema Exhibition, which runs until October 19th, in the capital of São Paulo.
With the theme A Window to China and curated by Lilith Li and Wang Xiangyi, the exhibition presents films produced in the last three years and seeks to reinforce the cultural ties that exist between Brazil and China.
According to the organizers, the objective is to deepen Brazilians’ understanding of Chinese culture, promote mutual learning and explore the challenges, affections and transformations of a society in constant movement.
Held by the Confúcio Institute at Unesp in partnership with the São Paulo Cultural Center (CCSP), Spcine and the Museum of Image and Sound (MIS), the event presents a diversity of themes that range from a woman’s awakening in the face of repression, as explored in the film Li Hong’s Roaduntil a discussion about the ecological catastrophe, presented in the animation Boonie Bears: Return from the Future.
In addition to screening films in the capital of São Paulo, the Chinese Cinema Exhibition will have a tour throughout the interior of São Paulo and an online program that will be carried out in partnership with Spcine, in the month of November.
The free exhibition is held at the Centro Cultural São Paulo (CCSP), in the capital of São Paulo. More information about the event can be found at website from the show.
