President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva will be received by Pope Leo XIV, at the Vatican, next Monday (13). The information is from the Holy See Press Office.
The meeting between Lula and the leader of the Catholic Church will be the first since Leo XIV the new pope was electedin May this year.
Lula travels this Saturday (11) to Rome to participate in the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) World Food Week and a series of meetings related to the Global Alliance against Hunger and Poverty. The return to Brazil will be on the 13th.
Lula will also participate in the in-person meeting of the Council of Champions of the Global Alliance against Hunger and Poverty, in the inauguration ceremony of the headquarters of the Alliance’s secretariat, an international platform aimed at coordinating social programs that can be replicated in different countries.
