The Prosecutor’s Office is investigating a rector in Vichada accused of abusing six indigenous students; A judge ordered his preventive detention.
A rector of a boarding school in Cumaribo (Vichada) must comply with a security measure in a prison while the investigation against him for alleged sexual abuse progresses of six of his students, four of them minors. The decision was adopted after the compilation of evidence by the Attorney General’s Office, which links the defendant to the events that occurred between 2024 and 2025.
The investigations established that the accused had taken advantage of his position and position of power within the boarding school to commit the alleged abuses against the students.who belong to an indigenous community. The rector allegedly tried to intimidate the students and their families, warning them that he had links to illegal armed groups. that they could retaliate if they reported it. According to the Prosecutor’s Office, this accusation sought to prevent the young women from reporting the events to the authorities, generating an atmosphere of fear within the educational institution.
The capture of the defendant was carried out by agents of the Technical Investigation Corps (CTI) in Puerto Carreñocapital of the department. Subsequently, a sectional prosecutor presented the case before a guarantee control judge, who charged him with the crimes of violent carnal access, sexual acts with a minor under fourteen years of age and sexual harassment. During the hearing, the accused did not accept the charges against him.

The judge determined that The rector must remain confined in a prison while the judicial process progresses.
