Current five-time champions, the Corinthians women’s football team came closer to reaching the sixth this Saturday afternoon (11). Brabas advanced to the semi-finals with a 4-0 victory over Boca Juniors at the Francisco Urbano Stadium, in Argentina. Timão’s show featured a hat-trick (three goals) from number 10 Gabi Zanotti, 40, the competition’s top scorer, with a total of six goals. Striker Jhonson came on in the second half and in nine minutes on the field she found the net and completed the scoring.
Brabas’ opponents will be defined in the game later, at 8pm (Brasília time), in the duel between Ferroviária (Guerreiras Grenás) and the Ecuadorian team Dragonas Independiente del Valle. The third Brazilian team in the quarterfinals is São Paulo, which faces the Colombian Deportivo Cali, at 8pm on Sunday (12), at the Florêncio Sola Stadium, also in Argentina.

The game had barely started and the referee awarded a penalty: Bia Zanotti tried to throw a hat and the ball touched defender Baccaro’s arm. The penalty was confirmed by VAR, and Bia herself took it, after six minutes, opening the scoring for Brabas. Six minutes later, Zanotti found the net again, taking advantage of a corner scored by Andressa Alves. Shaken, the Argentines were unable to cross midfield. The Brazilians continued to press and managed to extend the lead to 3-0, again with Bia Zanotti, this time with a header, after a beautiful free kick from Duda Sampaio in the 40th minute.

After the break, the Brabas maintained their intense pace. In the 16th minute, Ariel Godoi made a dangerous shot, but Boca goalkeeper Oliveiros saved. The night really belonged to Corinthians: nine minutes after entering the field in place of number 10 Zanotti, Jhonson completed the 4-0 rout, after an assist from Letícia Monteiro in the 22nd minute. From then on, As Brabas managed the advantage. On the opposing side, Kishi Núñez tried the goal of honor with balls kicked from outside the area, but he finished all of them out of the goal.
