The Cuban singers Oniel Bebeshito, Lenier and Alex Duvall took part this Friday in the halftime show of the friendly soccer match between the national teams of Argentina and Venezuela, held at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami.
Bebeshito, one of the most popular figures of Cuban urban music—and, in particular, of the so-called “reparto”—entered the stage wrapped in a flag of the island, a gesture that he frequently repeats in his most important presentations.
One of the most special moments of his presentation was the tribute he offered to The Taiger This Friday marks one year since his death.
Although Bebeshito’s performance at halftime of the game was brief and shared with other artists, it has been highlighted on the networks by followers of Cuban urban music as an opportunity for its artistic projection and the internationalization of the cast.
In this sense, the singer of songs like “Tact that arrived the cast” and “Marca Mandarina” – the latter, precisely, together with El Taiger – has strengthened his popularity in the Cuban and Latin community of Florida, where he currently resides and has contributed to giving greater visibility to the island’s urban music with performances such as the one at the Kaseya Center in Miami.
For their part, the also Cubans Alex Duvall and Lenier, well-known figures of the urban genre on the island and Florida, also had their moment of prominence before the public that came to witness the soccer clash between Argentines and Venezuelans.
They shared the stage with the Italian pop singer Masha Palazzo, while Pucho and Tucutu, Venezuelan brothers who are one of the revelations of reggaeton fusion, and The Gypsy “Chico Castillo”, a French singer, composer and guitarist with Spanish roots, were also part of the musical billboard.
In this way, with Cuban urban music as the protagonist, the halftime show at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami sought to show the musical diversity and, above all, the impact of Latin music from different genres and nations that come together in that city today.
On a purely sporting level, the match marked a new triumph for Argentina. The albicelestes defeated Venezuela 1-0, with a goal scored by Giovani Lo Celso, and without the presence on the field of star Leonel Messi, who this time followed the game from the stadium box.
