Santo Domingo.– The Dominican Institute of Meteorology (INDOMET) forecast for this Saturday showers, downpours, thunderstorms and gusts of wind due to the effects caused by the Tropical Storm Jerry.
The meteorological entity reported that in the morning hours there will be isolated showers in provinces near the southern coast of the country, such as La Altagracia, La Romana, San Pedro de Macorís, among others, associated with the cloudiness that the wind transports to the national territory.
In that sense, he INDOMET indicated that, in the afternoon, a high moisture content in the air mass, brought by the south/southeast wind induced by Tropical Storm Jerry, will combine with the effects associated with the diurnal cycle, generating increases in cloudiness with showers, thunderstorms and isolated gusts of wind until the early hours of the night.
These climatic effects will be reflected in locations such as La Altagracia, Hato Mayor, El Seibo, Monte Plata, Samaná, Monseñor Nouel, La Vega, Santiago, Espaillat, San Juan, Elías Piña, Dajabón, Monte Cristi, Puerto Plata, Valverde and Santiago Rodríguezamong other provinces.
Hot temperatures will continue
Given the high temperatures they continue to be reflected during this Saturday, for this reason the IDominican Institute of Meteorology issued several recommendations to mitigate the impact of heat. Among them are: drink plenty of water, wear light, light-colored clothing, avoid prolonged exposure to the sun without protection, and look for cool, ventilated places.
