The president of the United States, Donald Trump, stated that he has helped the opposition leader, María Corina Machado, a lot, and noted: “She needs a lot of help. In Venezuela, there is a disaster”
The president of the United States, Donald Trump, stated this Friday, October 10, that the leader of the opposition, María Corina Machado, was “very kind” to dedicate to him the Nobel Peace Prize that she received and to which the Republican president also aspired.
“The person who received the Nobel Prize today called me and said, ‘I’m accepting this in your honor because you really deserved it.’ “It was a very kind thing of him,” Trump said in a press appearance at the White House.
The president said, laughing, that he did not ask for the award: “I didn’t say ‘give it to me.'”
«He was very kind. And I have been helping her at all times. He needs a lot of help. In Venezuela, there is a disaster,” he noted.

In addition, Trump once again insisted that he has managed to end eight wars, including the one in Gaza, after Israel and Hamas agreed to a ceasefire and the release of the hostages following the peace plan he proposed just one day before the Norwegian Nobel Committee announced this year’s winner.
“I’m happy because I saved millions of lives, many millions of lives,” Trump declared.
Machado, who received the award for “his tireless work promoting democratic rights for the people of Venezuela,” dedicated the award to him in a message in English published in X: “I dedicate this award to the long-suffering people of Venezuela and to President Trump for his determined support of our cause!”
The president usually claims that he has resolved, in addition to the Gaza war, seven other conflicts: Cambodia-Thailand, Kosovo-Serbia, Democratic Republic of the Congo-Rwanda, Pakistan-India, Israel-Iran, Egypt-Ethiopia and Armenia-Azerbaijan.
Trump aspired to receive the Nobel Peace Prize, especially since then-President Barack Obama won it in 2009, someone who for the Republican was not worthy of the award.
The White House criticized the Nobel Committee this Friday for “putting politics before peace.”
“President Trump will continue to promote peace agreements, ending wars and saving lives,” said Steven Cheung, White House Communications Director.
