Hernán Bermúdez RequenaSecretary of Security and Citizen Protection of Tabasco from 2018 to 2024, is accused of heading “La Barredora”; He was arrested in Paraguay on September 12 and handed over to Mexico on the 17th of the same month.
The former official, currently imprisoned in a federal prison, was appointed to that position by the then governor of Tabasco, Adán Augusto López Hernández, who is currently coordinator of Morena in the Chamber of Deputies.
According to federal investigations, the so-called “Comandante H” or “El Abuelo” headed “La Barredora” when this group separated from the Jalisco Nueva Generación Cartel and began its expansion in Tabasco, where it commits crimes such as extortion, huachicoleo and drug trafficking.
“There was an expulsion from our movement for obvious reasons“The Mayor stressed when questioned about López Hernández’s partisan situation.
The Mayor reiterated that in Morena there is no room for impunity and stated that, contrary to what the PAN did with Genaro García Luna, the cherry party did not overlap Bermúdez Requena.
“The first thing that must be pointed out and we have been pointing out throughout the country is that in our movement and in our country there is no room for impunity; it was our own movement that opened the investigation in the Hernán Bermúdez case, today by the way in the prison detained and with an ongoing investigation,” he said.
“Sometimes they even try to compare it with García Luna, nothing more than in the case of the PAN members, far from opening an investigation, they decorated him, they applauded him, they overlapped him, not here, here whoever commits an act of corruption has to open a procedure and it has to be investigated to the last consequences, there is no complicity in Morena there is no room for complicity or impunity.”
No complaints against Adam
The party leader confirmed that there are no internal complaints against the Morenoist senator, Adán Augusto López Hernández, due to the controversies he has faced in recent months, such as the arrest of “El Comandante H” and the revelation of his millionaire income.
“To date I am not aware of any complaint that has been presented to the National Commission of Honesty and Justice (of Morena) against the senator; any member of our movement can file a complaint with the Commission that another colleague is considered to have violated the statute, the principles,” he noted.
“You can make that request before the National Commission of Honesty and Justice, but to date we have not had any complaints filed, and regarding the investigations, as far as I know there is no open investigation against the senator.”
In line with the position of President Claudia Sheinbaum, she said that evidence is needed to initiate an investigation.
“There is no overlap between corruption or links with organized crime. That is also why people have confidence, now there is also a permanent campaign against, I wouldn’t even say Andrés Manuel López Beltrán, but Andrés Manuel López Obrador, who has also focused on Andrés Manuel López Beltrán,” he added.
Ask to clarify private flights
On another issue, the Mayor stated that it is up to Senator Gerardo Fernández Noroña and the governor of Puebla, Alejandro Armenta, to clarify the use of private planes in accordance with party guidelines.
Mayor stressed that in Morena there is clarity about its guidelines and statutes, which stipulate a “ethical behavior“mandatory on the part of representatives, public servants and activists.
Morena is prohibited, for example, from making first-class air travel, promoting consumerism and displaying signs of ostentation, such as restaurants or luxury tourism, among other “extravagances.”
“I would say that they clarify, here we at Morena are clear about what our guidelines are, what our statutes are; we have said it many times that we have to always act by example and in any case they will have to clarify,” he expressed.
“But (…) it also rubs the hands of the opposition, so let them clarify and we have a lot of clarity about what our guidelines and our statutes are.”
The governor of Puebla, Alejandro Armenta Mier, was captured at an airport in New Jersey, United States, while boarding – along with his wife and daughter – a private flight in a Learjet 60, registration XA-IBC, which belongs to the company Aero JL and rents for $3,700 per hour.
According to the state government, the president moved to New Jersey to accompany a member of his family, who was hospitalized.
“No public resources were used for this transfer,” the entity stated.
Meanwhile, the newspaper Reforma announced that Gerardo Fernández Noroña rented a business plane, model Socata TBM 850, to participate in Morena’s informational assemblies in various municipalities of Coahuila.
The rental of the aircraft can reach 2,000 dollars per hour of flight, and the senator used it for six hours and one night, so the payment could reach 14 thousand dollars, which is equivalent to more than 256 thousand pesos.
“It’s a air taxi. The fellow president said that when it is necessary, it is possible. It is justified because I had little time to complete the tour. There is nothing to comment. “I am going to continue touring the country,” Noroña reacted.
