
The Archdiocese of Caracas has received with deep joy the recent audience granted by Pope Leo XIV to Monsignor Raúl Biord on Wednesday at the Vatican.
During the meeting, the Pope expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming canonymization of two emblematic figures of the Venezuelan faith: José Gregorio Hernández and Carmen Rendiles. With his usual cordiality, the pontiff expressed himself moved by the fervor of the Venezuelan people and the devotion to these future saints.
Monsignor Biord shared with Leo XIV the spiritual and pastoral process experienced throughout the year, and highlighted the nation’s commitment to this path of holiness.
The archbishop presented the Pope with sculptures by José Gregorio Hernández and Carmen Rendiles, works by the artist Juan Carlos Granadillowhich represent the legacy of faith, service and hope that both left in the heart of Venezuela.
The Archdiocese of Caracas reaffirms its commitment to evangelization and this significant step that will take place on October 19 in St. Peter’s Square in Rome.
Among the activities in Venezuela, the institution highlighted the celebration of a mass mass with the country’s bishops on October 25, as well as concerts, cultural events and social and educational campaigns.
