While crime in the country has reached alarming levels, the Minister of Education, Morgan Querorefuses to accept that cases of extortion and murder have increased during this government and, just as the president does, she minimized this problem.
“I think that (the increase in extortion cases) is not the case, I rather believe that this government has had success and achievements in arrests that had not occurred before; rather I perceive that there is a black hand to give relevance to criminal matters linked to a political situation, something that seems very dangerous to me,” the head of the Minedu responded in this way when he was reminded that extortions increased considerably in this government.
For Quero, citizens do not perceive the achievements that he points out because there are those who are in charge of throwing “mud at democracy.”
“I think that the way of interpreting the processes that are being experienced is contaminated by an attitude that means throwing mud at democracy,” explained one of Boluarte’s most trusted ministers.
In line with what the president said in her speech for the anniversary of the Navy in which she blamed previous governments for opening the door to illegal immigration, which strengthened crime, the minister blamed the government of Pedro Pablo Kuczynski for allowing the indiscriminate entry of people with criminal records.
“In the government of Mr. Pedro Pablo Kuczynski, facilities were given to enter thousands of Venezuelan citizens,” said Quero, indicating that the increase in crime “has to do with an inheritance that comes from abroad.”
The minister made these statements last Wednesday night almost simultaneously with the criminal attack on the musical group Agua Marina that occurred at a concert held in Chorrillos, which left four people wounded by gunshots.
