São Paulo beats Olimpia to advance in the Women's Libertadores

São Paulo beat Olimpia (Paraguay) 1-0, on Thursday night (9) at the Florencio Sola stadium, in Buenos Aires (Argentina), to guarantee their presence in the quarterfinals of the Women’s Copa Libertadores. With the victory guaranteed with Mariana Pión’s own goal, the Sovereigns advanced in second place in Group C. In this way, the team led by coach Thiago Viana faces the first placed team in Group D, Deportivo Cali (Colombia), in the quarterfinals.

The quarterfinals of the Women’s Libertadores will begin next Saturday (11), with the match between Corinthians and Boa Juniors (Argentina) and the clash between Ferroviária and Independiente Dragonas (Ecuador). A day later, Colo-Colo (Chile) plays against Libertad (Paraguay), while São Paulo plays against Deportivo Cali.
