Some 14,000 migrants (including deportees and returnees) have arrived in the country on 75 flights, after Caracas and Washington signed a deportation agreement last January, when Donald Trump assumed the presidency.
The Ministry of the Interior, Justice and Peace reported this Thursday, October 9, that 278 Venezuelans returned from Mexico, which they assured exceeded 14,000 repatriates so far this year. Specifically, 93 are women, 64 men and 121 children.
The group of migrants arrived at the Simón Bolívar international airport in Maiquetía on a Conviasa aircraft.
The returnees “received medical attention and medications,” according to the Ministry of the Interior.
Last Wednesday, another 197 nationals from El PasoTexas (United States) were also received in the country.
The group of migrants – 178 men, 14 women, four children and a teenager – arrived on an aircraft operated by the American Eastern Airlines, according to official images of the institution published on Instagram.
