The Congress of the Republic approved with 77 votes in favor, urgently summoning the Ministerial Cabinet headed by Eduardo Arana. The session was scheduled for 3 in the afternoon on October 9, after the shooting attack suffered by the cumbia group Agua Marina, which occurred during a concert in Chorrillos. The attack left four musicians injured and a street vendor injured. The event revived criticism of the Government for the lack of effective actions against the increase in murders due to extortion.
The request was promoted by Congressman Eduardo Salhuana, from the Alliance for Progress (APP), a party that has repeatedly supported President Dina Boluarte and has prevented her vacancy. Despite this closeness, APP is now promoting a call to the Cabinet to demand explanations for the lack of results in citizen security. The motion proposes that the Executive detail the measures adopted and to be adopted against criminal gangs, as well as the progress in the implementation of laws approved by Parliament.
