The use of a private flight to travel generated a new controversy for Senator Fernández Noroña who weeks ago had to respond for the purchase of a 12 million pesos house located in Tepoztlán Morelos.
According to the newspaper Reformthe legislator rented an aircraft at a cost of $2,000 per hour to attend his activity reports called “At ground level.”
Around 14,000 dollars (about 280,000 pesos) would have been the legislator’s expense for the transfer by air, which would exceed twice his gross monthly salary, which amounts to 131,000 pesos.
When explaining the use of the private plane, the legislator argued that the president herself supports that when necessary this type of transportation is used.
“The fellow president clearly said that when it is necessary (to use this type of flights),” said the legislator.
Furthermore, he justified the use of that transportation because, he argued, he had little time to travel to four municipalities in Coahuila.
