The businessman Leonardo Wehe was recognized as “Entrepreneur of the Year 2025” in it National Tourism Award of the Dominican Republic 2025, for his work in the tourism and cultural development of the northern coast of the country, especially in Cabarete, through his company Cabarete Tango.
The award to Wehe was presented during a ceremony held at the Hotel Catalonia of Saint Dominicwhere his contribution to the tourism diversification in the northern region and its commitment to economic growth and culture.
“The Dominican Republic is the most beautiful country in the world, the envy of many. I feel that it is a very competitive space, but everyone is competing downwards. With Cabarete Tango We are committed to improving the tourist offer with boutique productsluxury and innovative: we win the hearts of tourists only with high value-added products, competing upwards. If we continue like this, Cabarete will become the real alternative tourist destination of the Dominican Republic,” said the businessman.
Of descent dominican-argentina, Wehe is leading a transformation in Cabarete through a series of emblematic projects who seek to position this destination as a jewel of the Caribbean. Among them stand out:
- Eden Cabarete, a bayfront condominium complex, designed by architect Byron Rodríguez and built by SC Engineering, that introduces a new standard of design inspired by waves and nature.
- Icon Cabarete, a bayfront condominium complex, designed by architect Sarah García
- Cabarete Country Club, the rescue of an abandoned 9-hole golf course, which will be rebuilt by architect Christina Fraser. At the same time, it includes a series of unprecedented amenities in the area and a project to build more than 150 homes, including luxury villas and apartments.
