Liceo 2 competes and does so with the Prisma Project
The educational center located in the southern area of the departmental capital, once again submitted a Project to the Nodo 2025 Awards.
These Funds stimulate educational innovation and improvements in learning.
In the month of August, Ceibal, the Ministry of Education and Culture and the ANEP launched the call to which educational institutions from all over the country applied.
These Funds seek to promote the autonomy of educational centers to carry out innovative projects appropriate to their specific context, favor the implementation of initiatives that have an impact on learning and be an inspiration for other educational communities.
“With great pride, we are in the final stage of the Nodo Awards” confirmed the Professor Andrés Leles Da Silva, remembering that in 2024 Liceo 2 was also among the best 20 projects in the country. “We were not lucky enough to win the award, we came in 15th place out of 12 winners.”
This year the educational center decided to submit again to the call that closed at the end of August. “This time there are 19 finalists and we are one of them” stood out.
“We are looking for that award to be able to improve the physical spaces with the aim of providing other opportunities for our students and, in this case, the Project called Prisma is focused on introducing improvements in the multipurpose space” overtook THE DIARY PROFESSIONAL.
Although this area was already generated by the institution itself with its own resources with this fund, if it wins, it will seek to provide it with infrastructure and equip it with better technology. “It is aimed at serving high school students at certain times, but also with an opening to the schools, which have already been consulted to find out what their demands were. If we achieve this, they will be able to come and work on computational thinking, robotics and programming. At the same time, there are projects in the pipeline so that the students themselves can work with their grandparents in managing Social Networks. There was a proposal to work with neighbors in this same sense” he commented.
There is until October 31 to complete all the demands that the Ceibal Network established regarding the project. “November 25th is the awards ceremony at the SODRE Auditorium” confirmed.
“The prize goes up to $1,000,000. We requested it last year and did not achieve the goal. This year our budget is around $400,000. It is also an important figure, but we hope to be fortunate enough to achieve it.” said the Director of High School 2.
GOOD IMPACT AT THE COMMUNITY LEVEL
The announcement made at the beginning of the week in the Municipality of Cerro Largo regarding training courses in the area of IT for municipal officials had a positive impact on the rest of society.
“The openness that we sought to have towards the community was viewed very favorably” assured Leles Da Silva.
“On this occasion, it is with the officials of the departmental commune and the different Mayor’s Offices to reach this agreement to provide them with technological tools that improve the service to citizens as a whole. It is also important for all these municipal personnel to continue their secondary education studies, which is why we receive this demand from the Directorate of Education with very good eyes and hope to reach important agreements” he pointed out.
“From the community they have approached the educational center to request, from other departments, not just the departmental commune, the possibility of having these tools” confirmed.
“It is a beginning because the Team I work with and the colleagues we have here have that openness and all the will to carry out other workshops that involve meeting the demands of the population as a whole” express.
