In this way, Brabas do Timão avoided a meeting with Ferroviária in the next phase of the Libertadores. Corinthians’ next opponent is Boca Juniors (Argentina), in a match that will take place next Saturday (11).
Despite securing the victory with a header from Gabi Zanotti in the 11th minute of the first half, Brabas do Timão did not have an easy time against the Colombians, and had to work hard to hold on to the advantage until the final whistle.
Ferroviária is also moving forward in the Libertadores as the leader of its group. The Guerreiras Grenás managed to stay in first place in Group B after being 0-0 against Boca Juniors this Wednesday at the Florencio Sola stadium. In the quarterfinals, the Araraquara team faces Independiente Dragonas (Ecuador).
