This Thursday the Llanero Festival will begin in Villavicencio, which will run from October 9 to 13, with a varied program especially for tourists this week of school recess.
According to the programming, during the 5 days of the Llanero Festival, those interested will be able to enjoy concerts of llanera music and other genres, during the nights, which will be held with free entry to Los Fundadores de Villavicencio park.
The parade called “From the plain to the city” will take place on Friday, October 10, starting at 1:00 in the afternoon at the point known as The Return of the Harps, in the Vanguardia airport roundabout, and will travel the main streets of the capital of Meta.
From there, the riders will tour the El Emporio neighborhood, Alfonso López Avenue and the city center, until they reach Avenida 40, where the route will end in front of the SENA, the organizers said.

Afterwards, the party will continue with a party in Los Fundadores park, in tribute to Luis Ariel Rey, a folklore icon who is recognized because he marked generations with his music. llanera
“In the 14th edition of the Llanero Festival, tribute will be paid to Luis Ariel Rey, pioneer and ambassador of Llano music, who brought the songs of the Llano to national stages and marked a before and after in culture,” said the mayor of the capital of Meta, Alexander Baquero.
The Llanero Festival will be held this weekend in Villavicencio amid criticism of the Mayor’s Office of Alexander Baquero for the damage to the aqueduct that keeps 60 percent of the city without a normal water supply since May.
