
The National Press Workers Union denounced on Wednesday the expulsion from a group of journalists during an event of Tourism in the Bolívar state.
He indicated that the communicators covered the Bolívar Oasis Ecotourism Congress of Explorers, organized by the Venezuelan Corporation of Guayana Foundport, on the occasion of World Tourism Day.
According to the guild, the team was made up of journalists Rosangelly Bruces and Félix Requena, Together with graphic reporters Saúl Rondón and Taylianni Antaimato whom the protocol staff interrupted hostile when they tried to conduct an interview.
Requena expressed her frustration in her social networks: “Another day in this town: you will cover an activity where they are then told that you are not authorized and, incidentally, when you retire from the place you are escorted with security as if you were one I do not know what. This is what journalists live, situations that some seek to normalize. “
The union also pointed out that the eviction of journalists prevented the coverage of the tourist event in Bolívar and restricted access to public interest information.
“We condemn these arbitrary restrictions that they violate the freedom of the press and citizen law to be informed ”, The SNTP expressed through a statement published on its website.
The union organization demanded that the authorities guarantee conditions of respect and free access to the work of the media throughout the country. He also reiterated his rejection of any form of censorship or intimidation against press workers.
