In the early hours of the morning (4:52 am) this Wednesday, October 8, the Sectoral Vice President of Politics, Citizen Security and Peace, Diosdado Cabello, reported that “Operation Independence 200” is activated in the states of La Guaira and Carabobo through the Organs of the Directorate for the Comprehensive Defense of the Nation (ODDI) in popular – police – military fusion.
From Casa Guipuzcoana, he pointed out that the activation plan is based on a meticulous check of activities that involves various State security agencies, including the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (Fanb), as well as governorates, mayors and the Bolivarian National Militia.
Cabello shared a post through his social networks in which he mentioned that “on instructions from the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, and in perfect popular, military and police fusion, from La Guaira we review the deployment of the Independence Plan 200. The people defend their sovereignty together with the Bolivarian National Armed Forces, the Police, the Firefighters and Civil Protection.”
Likewise, he added that these exercises are taking place today throughout the national territory.
This joint effort seeks to guarantee the defense of the country and prepare the Venezuelan people to face any external aggression.
The Minister for Interior Relations, Justice and Peace, also explained that in La Guaira, the focus of the deployment is centered on the Peace Quadrants, and that the actions are aimed at protecting institutions, organizations and essential public services, paying special attention to strategic places such as airports, ports and military units.
For his part, Admiral Gregorio Antonio Briceño Paniagua, commander of the La Guaira Comprehensive Defense Operational Zone (Zodi), indicated that the security forces received direct orders from the Commander in Chief, Nicolás Maduro, to begin operations at midnight.
The deployment includes tactical maneuvers that are part of a comprehensive national defense plan, he indicated.
These actions not only seek a defensive posture, but also reflect a national union in defense of the country’s sovereignty and self-determination. Different tactical directions and the establishment of blocking points are being carried out to ensure protection against possible threats, Briceño said during the broadcast on the State channel. He mentioned that this mobilization implies a perfect fusion between the civilian population, the military and police forces. The strategy seeks to maintain the peace and tranquility of the Venezuelan people, consolidating a unified front to face any challenge.
