The Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba, accredited in Venezuela, Dagoberto Rodríguez, received the Order decoration from the President, Nicolás Maduro Francisco de Miranda in his First Class, after having completed his diplomatic mission in the country, thus recognizing “the outstanding diplomatic work of the Ambassador and his contribution to strengthening bilateral relations and the ties of friendship and comprehensive cooperation between both nations,” highlights Prensa Presidencial.
After being decorated by President Nicolás Maduro, the ambassador of the Republic of Cuba, Dagoberto Rodríguez Barrera, offered a heartfelt farewell speech, reaffirming the unbreakable brotherhood between Caracas and Havana.
The diplomat thanked the government team “for the invaluable support in these last 6 years, characterized by the solidarity between patriots who share dreams and struggles,” he expressed and praised the “valuable and brave Venezuela, for having successfully faced all types of aggression from the most powerful and nefarious empire”, from the criminal and inhuman economic war” and the “aberrant assassination plans”, to the discredit and the military threat.
Rodríguez Barrera highlighted that his six-year administration found in the Government and the heroic Venezuelan people a disposition forged in “a common history and a culture that distinguishes us.”
Finally, the ambassador ratified the historic commitment and unrestricted solidarity of the Island, assuring the head of State: “Comrade President Maduro, I conclude by ratifying you without hesitation that despite the challenges that Cuba currently faces, you and the Venezuelan people today and will always be able to count on the Cubans, as millions of our citizens have expressed with their signatures in recent days,” he concluded.
For his part, the head of state recalled the experiences lived during these last 6 years and assured that “Venezuela is committed in body, nerve, blood and existence, in the construction of the new world. Of that new pluripolar, multicentric world, where the people of the global south have the right to exist according to our idiosyncrasy, our identity and to live in peace,” explained the national leader during the formal award ceremony.
He continued his speech by highlighting that «there is no room for hegemonism in the cultural, civilizational, political, economic and diverse signs that are emerging in all regions of the planet. In his opinion, a new pluripolar world is “being formed, coming together”, so that there are multiple centers of power: technological, political, military, economic and geopolitical power.
