The Presidency of the Council of Ministers (PCM) announced on Tuesday that he decided to advance the meeting with the transporter guilds for Thursday, October 9, with the purpose of maintaining a direct dialogue that allows to address the main problems that afflict the sector, including extortion and threats that affect drivers and transport entrepreneurs.
Through its social networks, the PCM reported that the decision responds to the need to “listen, dialogue and build joint solutions” that guarantee the safety of workers and users of the transport service.
“We have decided to advance the meeting with the associations and guilds of transporters with the aim of listening, dialogue and building joint solutions that guarantee the security of the transport service,” the institution said in a statement released on the social network X (formerly Twitter).

The call takes place a day after the ministers announced, at the end of a press conference, that the installation of the dialogue table would be held on Tuesday, October 14. However, given the growing concern for extortion cases, illegal charges and threats against carriers in various regions of the country, the Executive decided to advance the appointment.
