Mayor of Pataz and ronderos will also camp in the Center of Lima

With the arrival of this mobilization, chaos could settle this weekend in the Center of Lima.

The march of the mayor of Pataz, Aldo Carlos Mariños, accompanied by ronderos, would arrive on Sunday the 12th around the Congress and the Government Palace.

This protest, without a doubt, would light the fuse of conflict in the center of the capital.

Because? Because that same Sunday the 12th, a new version of the march of the Generation Z (18 to 29 years old)to which protesters from other generations are added: millennials (29 to 44 years old) and X (45 to 60 years old).

Although last weekend there were no violent incidents, on other occasions there have been clashes with the Police, including the launching of fireworks and Molotov cocktails.

Two days later, on Tuesday the 14th, a camp will begin on Abancay Avenue, in front of Congress. There, the informal and illegal miners of Confemin have announced their protest.

That union, as recalled, demands that the Reinfo be extended for five years and that the mining concessions be reverted.

In addition, they ask that the 50 thousand miners excluded from the formalization process be included again, after supreme decree No. 012-2025 left them illegal due to having expired or suspended registration.

In short, the Center would become a pressure cooker that could heat up as the days go by.

In July, Perú21 reported on the takeover of Abancay Avenue by illegal and informal Confemin miners. Starting Tuesday the 14th, they will do the same.

SIGNING OF SOCIAL AGREEMENT

The mayor of Pataz stated – in communication with Peru21— that his march is not a coincidence or coordination with the protest announced by Confemin, because he has his own list of demands: the paving of Highway 10 C and the construction of the provincial hospital for its region.

However, he noted that the young people of Generation ZConfemin’s illegal and informal miners and transporters can join their protest.

“All those who seek justice but respecting the rights of others join in,” he said.

“But if the different unions came, if the different organizations came to this entry into Lima, of course I have to listen to them, address their problems and I believe that we will have to sign a social pact to vindicate the homeland,” said Mariños.

CONTACT WITH GENERATION Z

About a recent viral video where he is seen in contact with a young man from Generation ZMariños said:

“What I told him is that they fight peacefully, that they don’t give up, right? That they have to be vigilant because those who govern from Lima plant you or infiltrate you to generate vandalism and then to blame the people.”

STAYS IN LIMA

Regarding whether he will camp in the Center of Lima, Mariños did not rule it out, and pointed out that this will be seen when entering the capital, hoping that his march will be large.

He added that he will stay until President Dina Boluarte addresses his list of demands.

His group is made up of about 40 people, all ronderos, and he ruled out the presence of ancestral miners.

For safety, he carries three weapons: two 9 mm pistols and a hunting shotgun, all licensed for use by Sucamec.

Last Friday he was arrested for carrying weapons, but when he showed his permits they were returned to him and he was able to continue with his mobilization that began on August 25 in Pataz, which has now been going on for more than a month.

PERU21 REVEALED THAT IT SPENDS ON STADIUMS

Although Mariños claims not to have a budget for the hospital and the paving of Highway 10 C, Peru21 revealed in an investigative report that his management has scheduled S/12 million for soccer stadiums.

Five sports projects linked to the construction and improvement of spaces for the practice of this sport have been prioritized by the Provincial Municipality of Pataz. In contrast, the Health sector only received S/252,000 this year.

There is no doubt: Mariños is not prioritizing the true needs of his region.

PROCESSION AT RISK

Peru21 reported last week that Confemin plans to start a protest in the capital on Tuesday the 14th, with a high possibility of camping at the intersection of Abancay Avenue and Jirón Junín.

This mobilization could put at risk the passage of the procession of the Lord of Miracles on Saturday the 18thwhose route will advance towards Parliament and Barrios Altos.

Are the authorities ready to avoid chaos? That is the question that remains in the air.
