Apply for one of INDOTEL’s 3,000 cybersecurity scholarships
Santo Domingo.– Within the framework of Cybersecurity Monthhe Dominican Institute of Telecommunications (INDOTEL)next to National Cybersecurity Center (CNCS) and the Association of Commercial Banks (ABA)launched the program Link LACan initiative that offers 3 thousand free scholarships training and certification in strategic areas of cybersecurity.
The program is supported by World Bank and the support of the Colombian company Courseraand is directed to public employees, women entrepreneurs and MSME leaderswith the purpose of strengthen digital skills and reduce the gender gap in the technology sector.
The president of the Board of Directors of INDOTEL, Guido Gómez Mazarahighlighted that these scholarships represent “a unique opportunity for public sector employees to strengthen the State’s capacity to face the challenges of digitalization and cybersecurity.”
“We want this type of scholarship to serve as a springboard for training, training and capacity development. As long as we are at the head of INDOTEL, we will guarantee more opportunities like this,” said Mazara during the launch, held at the Indotel Digital Culture Center.

The program searches strengthen human capitalencourage a digital trust ecosystem and position the Dominican Republic as a regional reference in digital talent. In addition, it represents a direct investment in the economic and social development of the country.
Through Link LACbeneficiaries will be able to train in areas such as cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, data analysis, critical thinking, leadership, project management and entrepreneurshipall essential for the digital economy of the 21st century.

The event was attended by national and international authorities from the technological, diplomatic and financial fields, including the Dominican Consul General in New Jersey, Bertico Santanaand the Ambassador for Cyber Affairs of MIREX, retired Major General Claudio Peguero.
With this initiative, INDOTEL reaffirms its commitment to put technology at the service of peoplestrengthening the preparation of Dominicans to face the challenges of the digital age.
