According to him, the removal of these products from 50% tariff means exclusion of $ 370 million in exported Brazilian products.
Section 232 of the US commercial expansion law, mentioned by Alckmin, is used by the country to tax all countries simultaneously.
“I think President Lula’s meeting with President Trump in New York was important, it was a first step and we are very convinced that we will have next steps there. There is no reason to maintain this tariff, as the United States are surplus in the business relationship with us. They sell more to us than us to them,” added Alckmin.
The vice president has been the main Brazilian interlocutor with the US government and has been maintaining direct dialogue with the US secretary of commerce, Howard Lutcnick, with whom he talked this week.
Sustainable car
