The designation highlights Nemocón’s potential as a privileged scenario for the observation of heaven, thanks to its geographical and atmospheric conditions that allow enjoying clear nights and a firmament loaded with stars. In this way, the municipality is integrated into the global trend of astronomical tourism, which combines science, nature and cultural experiences.
In addition to its recognition for the imposing salt mine, which keeps rock formations and underground water mirrors inside, Nemocón now diversifies its proposal with astronomical observation activities and educational routes. This new approach seeks to attract both national and international visitors interested in the knowledge of the universe and the protection of the night sky.
With this recognition, Nemocón strengthens its position as a sustainable and competitive tourist destination, betting on initiatives that link natural heritage with innovative experiences. Astrotourism, in this sense, not only enriches the cultural and scientific offer of the municipality, but also helps to boost the local economy.
