From this Saturday (4), the Central Bank (BC) will block pix keys used in blows and fraud. The block will occur based on the information provided by financial institutions, which will reach the keys informed by the financial institutions themselves that make up the Pix System.
According to the BC, the procedure aims to strengthen the safety of Pix. The news was announced at the last meeting of the Pix Forum. Permanent Advisory Committee with about 300 participants in the financial system and civil society, the Pix Forum aims to subsidize the BC in defining the rules and procedures that discipline the functioning of the instant transfers system.
The news represents another reinforcement in the measures announced in recent weeks to curb fraud and blows to Pix. In early September, the BC limited R $ 15,000 transfers via Pix and TED to payment institutions, which allow the movement of resources, but do not lend, unauthorized by the municipality to work.
The measure came after three operations against money laundering for organized crime: hidden carbon, quasar and tank. According to the Federal Police (PF), investigations reach more than $ 50 billion in suspicious financial movements via fintechs (type of digital bank).

Also in September, the BC forced payment institutions to deny transactions for suspicious fraud accounts. The measures must be implemented until October 13.
Institutions must use information from electronic systems and public or private databases to substantiate suspicion. The owner of the account that would receive the money must be informed about the rejection of the transfer by the institution in which he has the account.
Finally, since Wednesday (1st), the BC has forced the financial institutions to offer, in its applications, the PIX Transaction Contestation Button. The measure made 100% digital the service of the Special Return Mechanism (MED), created in 2021 to reimburse fraud and blow victims in the Pix.
