Several months have passed and in Congress the three final reports of the Parliamentary Ethics Commission They propose to suspend their functions, without enjoying, to the legislators Raúl Doroteo, María Agüero and Darwin Espinoza; to the first two for 120 days and last 60.
The three reports were approved by a majority in the last legislature. However, without any explanation, the previous president of Congress, Eduardo Sallejuana, did not include them in the Plenary agenda so they would have to be seen in the current period. However, to date the new head of the aforementioned working group, Elvis Vergara – with whom Peru21 He requested an interview without results – has not requested that they will debate.
Asked on the issue, the president of the Legislative, José Jerí, said that “once the president of Ethics requested, (the reports) will enter into the agenda.”
The question is whether this delay of Vergara would obey that Raúl Doroteo He is a member of his Popular Action bench. Darwin Espinoza It also was, although now we are part of Podemos. When both cases were seen in ethics, in addition, Vergara stated that the sanctions are reduced, but did not have the support of his colleagues.
To this is added that the three: Vergara, Doroteo and Espinoza are syndicated by the Prosecutor’s Office as members of the group ‘The Children’ who was related to former president Pedro Castillo.
Entrusted
Doroteo’s case is the oldest. In December 2024, the Ethics Commission determined that there were enough elements of conviction that it appropriated 50% of María Fernanda Morales Gutiérrez’s salary. The Public Ministry also made a constitutional complaint against him for the alleged crime of concussion.
Three months later, in March of this year, the working group approved the report on Darwin Espinoza for having used workers from their office and assets of the State to collect signatures for the Regional Movement Ancash Ancash. For him a 60 -day suspension was recommended.
Finally, in May, Ethics did the same with the perulibrist María Agüero who cut 10% of the remuneration and bonds of the congress of their workers.
I knew that
Given the seriousness of the complaint against Agüero, the Prosecutor’s Office, through the area of illicit enrichment and constitutional complaints, raided his domicile in Breña.
The intervention was carried out in November last year with the participation of the Special Team of Prosecutors against the corruption of power.
