All the beaches of Puerto Plata closes due to strong waves and sea in the background

Puerto Plata.- The authorities they arranged the closure of all beach spas in this Atlantic province due to Strong waves and currents dangerous marine caused by a “sea in the background.”

The prevention and response prevention committee (CPMR) of Puerto Plataissued the precautionary measure before Friday noon, ordering the placement of red flag as a danger sign and the closure of all the beaches of the coastal coast of this jurisdiction.

In this regard, the population is warned that the prohibition of the use of beaches is due to the fact that, since the morning hours, the ocean began to become agitated from Cana Punta Even Puerto Plata with strong waves between 7 and 9 feet high, with breaking up to 12 feet.

Given these adverse sea conditions and the safety of the bathers, the red flag was put on all the beaches of the coastal coast of Puerto Plata and the bath will not be allowed on any of the beaches of this province, by the dangerous marine currents, abnormal waves and turbidity of the water on the coast.

The strong swell that is reaching the Atlantic coast of the Dominican Republic is due to the distant influence of the remnants of Hurricanes Imelda and Humberto: it is the background generated by both atmospheric phenomena located more than 2,000 kilometers away.

Due to hazardous maritime conditions, drivers of small and fragile vessels are ordered to remain in ports from today to Sunday, when the swells begin to descend.

Likewise, the general population is requested and tourists who respect this security measure and avoid entering all closed beaches, in view of the fact that everyone’s safety is a priority to avoid unfortunate situations for the non -observance of danger.
