Brazil maintained the leadership of the medal board of the World Championship of Paralympic Athletics, this Friday (3), when it reached the total of 37 podiums, thanks to the silver of Paulista Alessandro Silva at the release of disk F11 (visual impairment).
Two days after the end of the sports mega event, the Brazilian delegation remains in the lead of the medal board with a total of 12 gold, 18 silver and seven bronzes. China is the second place with a total of 38 podiums (nine gold, 16 silver and 13 bronzes). Poland appears in third place with eight gold and 15 medals in all.
Brazil’s best campaign in a paralympic athletics World Edition was achieved in 2024 in Kobe (Japan). At that time the Brazilian team ended the competition in second position in the general medal framework, only behind China, with a total of 42 podiums (19 gold, 12 silver and 11 bronzes).
