The Attorney General of the Republic, Tarek William Saab, insisted that the Venezuelan State is open to international criminal cooperation in the global fight against drugs and emphasized that it cannot be used to cause a conflict in Venezuela, according to a press release from the Public Ministry.
From the Petare parish, the president of the Citizen Power stressed that Venezuela has demonstrated its international criminal cooperation with countries such as France, Holland, Italy and Colombia; and what product of this collaboration has materialized the arrest of approximately 200 drug traffickers in recent times.
In turn, he rejected the actions of the United States in the Caribbean Sea, and pointed out that they are “apart from human rights.” He highlighted the attack on small fishing vessels and denounced that “they have intended under that excuse to say that they are fighting posters using missiles.”
He also stressed that the drug trafficking route does not go through Venezuela: «Drug trafficking in Venezuela literally does not exist, while it is proven that less than five percent passes through the Colombian Guajira (…) and almost 90 percent passes through the Pacific, far from Venezuela; in the axis that unites Ecuador, Colombia and Peru ».
Defense of Sovereignty
On the other hand, the head of the criminal action praised “the strong will of the Venezuelan State, its institutions, of the forces, both institutional, civil, military, popular, to tell the world that Venezuela is not only united in the defense of its sovereignty”, but also for the defense of peace and the tranquility of our people on the eve of Christmas this year 2025.
During his speech Saab, he said that these “alleged agorers that we have seen in recent months have been totally failed, while they have sought the implosion of the state of the Venezuelan nation, of our people, undermine the tranquility of the nation”, but they have not achieved it, despite the siege suffered.
Call to peace
In turn, the attorney general called the peaceful solution of tensions, as the United States special envoy intends; Richard Grenelll: “He represents the spokesperson for peace and dialogue. Well, that is the one that must be imposed and not any other.”
Saab made an alert call to the other countries of the region, given the potential American threat: «The Caribbean must be united in this reality, because attacking any Caribbean country is undermining the peace of the region. The Caribbean is a peaceful area and will continue to be.
Finally, he reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to Republican peace and democracy: “The Public Ministry will place its grain of sand, as it has always done so, to continue maintaining peace in our country.”
