Within that initiative is the increase in pensions for retired teachers that has already been approved in Plenary and is in the hands of the Executive. According to Grippa, this would mean a cost of between S/4,000 million and s/5,000 million.
“Beyond justice or not, which is not under discussion, the issue is where the money is going to get,” he said and pointed out that amount would be allocated equivalent to 0.5% of the annual GDP.
Another proposal that generates concern is the one that extends the right to gratification for national holidays and Christmas to the workers of the CAS regime, which has been approved in the first vote. The impact of the initiative is between S/2,500 million and S/3,000 million, that is, around 0.3% of GDP.
Something that also generates alarms is the proposal of the left that has the increase in the bonus for national holidays and Christmas of public officials, who today receive approximately S/300, to a minimum vital remuneration (currently in S/1,130), that is, a growth of almost four times of what is currently.
“How is this going to be financed? If these measures finally come out, it will weigh on the fiscal accounts,” he reported and indicated that the deficit, which for the BBVA Research would be 2.3% of the GDP this year, is not reducing to the rhythm that would be expected.
GROWTH
On the other hand, the representative of the BBVA Research estimated that this year the Peruvian economy would grow 3.1%, despite the uncertainty generated by the electoral campaign.
The result would be impacted by the high terms of exchange, the beginning of the construction of new mines and the transitory impact of the recent release of pension funds.
