The 16th Radio National Music Festival recorded 1,068 songs enrolled across the country, a record number between the editions of the event. The deadline for registration was closed last Tuesday (30). 
All Brazilian states are represented, especially Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Federal District, Minas Gerais and Bahia. The songs selected by the public and the jury will play in the program of Radio Nacional FM.
“Each edition reveals artists who often find their first major opportunity here. This strengthens not only the broadcaster, but also the Brazilian music scene. This record of inscriptions shows the artists’ confidence in national strength and the connection we have with the public across the country,” says EBC’s executive manager, Thiago Regotto.
The Visa Festival reveals and promotes recordings of unpublished musical works, making room in the program of FM National Radio for singers, composers, instrumentalists and arrangers.
The recordings of the competing songs must have identification with the musical profile of the station and the language of the songs with lyrics must be Portuguese.
Stages
In this first step, will be selected at least 30 and at most 50 songs to advance at the festival. The works will go through a judging committee composed of representatives of National Radio and invited judges.
Subsequently, the songs chosen will be transmitted by FM National Radio and submitted to the internet vote from October 13 to November 30. The most voted song in this first online voting stage will be automatically classified among the 12 festival finalists.
In the final stage of the festival, the same judging committee will meet again and select the other 11 finalist songs, which will be published on the National Radio program between December 1st and 12th.
In all, the 12 finalist songs will compete for awards in the categories: best song with lyrics, best interpreter, best lyrics, best arrangement and music voted on the internet.
For the release of the winners of the 16th Radio National Music Festival in the various categories, the station will promote an event with online broadcast, which will be attended by representatives of the 12 finalists.
