The Public Ministry reported that Jhon Henry Barajas Ortega (43) was sentenced to turn 10 years in prison after he admitted his responsibility in the commission of sexual violence against his 14 -year -old niece.
The incident was denounced on July 30 of this year by the victim’s mother before the Corps of Scientific, Criminal and Criminal Investigations in Rubio, Junín Municipality of the Táchira State, the public body reviewed in a press release.
According to the investigation, the victim’s mother went to the Cicpc in Rubio to denounce that Barajas Ortega, the adolescent’s paternal uncle, had forced the young woman to have a sexual encounter with him. According to his testimony, the incident occurred three days before in the Manuel Pulido Méndez urbanization located in the La Montañita sector.
In that sense, in the statement offered by the parent it was learned that she was put aware of the situation when the young woman talked with her father via telephone because the man is outside of Venezuela. With this knowledge, the lady came to file the respective complaint.
After the relevant medical and psychological tests the man was apprehended that same day to be made available to the Public Ministry and initiate the respective criminal process.
During the preliminary hearing, the 26th Prosecutor’s Office of Táchira ratified the accusation against Barajas Ortega for the Commission of Sexual Violence to the detriment of his niece.
Once the admission of facts by the defendant, the 1st Court of Control in Violence against Women issued the aforementioned conviction against him and ordered his seclusion in the West Penitentiary Center located in Santa Ana del Táchira, was heard.
