The National Institute of Civil Defense (INDECI) announced the realization of the third national drill, scheduled for Monday, October 13 at 8:00 pm
During the day, mermaids, alarms in mobile phones, text messages and other alert systems will be activated. Indeci urged the population to actively participate, replicating evacuation and protection actions as if it were a real emergency.
The exercise will be multiple. In 18 departments and Callao will simulate earthquakes and, in coastal areas, tsunamis. In places like Yungay, Huaraz and Huaral, measures will be tested against alluvions and landslides, while in regions such as Huánuco, Loreto, Pasco, Madre de Dios and Cajamarca, intense rainfall, flood and huaicos scenarios will be recreated.
Indeci recalled the importance of practicing with the emergency backpack, which must contain basic items for the first 24 hours, and with a reserve box for later days.
