Before criticisms in social networks for the number of advisors of the new Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation (SCJN), Minister Lenia Batres Guadarrama released a table with data from the previous plenary yesterday, where it is claimed that former President Norma Piña had 150 people under her charge, more than the 103 who today work with Hugo Aguilar.

“After so many lies about the advisors of the ministers, I managed to obtain how many people we were directly in our charge by the ministers and ministers in the old court,” Batres published in the social network X.

According to Batres, the Court allocated 58.2 million pesos in the second semester of 2024 to cover the cost of personnel assigned directly to the 11 ministers. In total, 644 workers were reported, not including those who depend on the presidency of the Court.

Minister President Norma Piña headed the list with 150 collaborators and an expense of 9 million pesos.

“It should be noted that, with the exception of the Minister President, they were ‘papers” personnel, that is, lawyers and lawyers with jurisdictional functions (not “advisors”), dedicated to the study, instruction and projection of sentences. The president minister did not present discussion sentences projects, ”said Batres.

He was followed by Juan Luis Alcántara Carrancá with 69 (5.3 million); Yasmín Esquivel Mossa, 66 (5 million); Loretta Ortiz Ahlf, 66 (5 million); Margarita Ríos Farjat, 71 (4.5 million); Javier Laynez Potisek, 51 (4.3 million); Alfredo Gutiérrez Ortiz Mena, 65 (5.2 million); Jorge Mario Pardo Rebolledo, 70 (4.6 million); Alberto Pérez Dayán, 67 (5.2 million); Luis María Aguilar, 45 (4.9 million), and Lenia Batres, 74 (4.8 million).

The SCJN data indicates that the Budget for Human Resources in 2024 amounted to 5,787 million pesos, with a total template of 3,594 workers. The figure includes support personnel in various administrative and jurisdictional areas, but not to the one directly assigned to Minister President.

Minister Batres spread the information after a television station published that she currently has 78 collaborators under her position, whose monthly cost exceeds 5 million pesos.
