Cuernavaca, Mor., President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo said Tuesday that she and her predecessor, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, will never separate.
From Cuernavaca, where he closed his accountability tour in the states on the occasion of his first year of government, he pointed out that the opposition “seeks” him to distinguish the former president, but stressed that this will not happen and took the opportunity to send him a greeting until Palenque.
“They are looking for him, they look for him … They say: ‘We are going to throw one to the president to see if he distances himself from López Obrador’, that if López Obrador I do not know that … a year ago the government left and they still talk about him. First, we will never separate because we are part of the same movement. We know where we come from and we do not forget where we are going,” he said.
In addition, he explained, “there is something that our adversaries do not support, most importantly, President López Obrador always told us: ‘I do not want them to do statues, monuments or streets with my name’, and the day I took possession I saw that it is not necessary, it is in the heart of the people of Mexico.”
On the other hand, he recalled that this year “we have had, like all the countries of the world, our difficulties with the United States government in the negotiation of tariffs, security and many other issues, also in the defense of our brothers who are on the other side of the border.” However, he stressed that “Mexico is a free, sovereign and independent country and that is not negotiating.”
Sheinbaum announced that in Morelos the number of beneficiaries of the welfare programs are 498 thousand 873, with an investment of 13,545 million pesos that go directly to families.
He pointed out that among the works that his government effects in the State is the rehabilitation of the Tierra y Libertad circuit and the Jojutla vehicular bridge is built; In addition, from next year a bridge of direct access to the Autonomous University of the State of Morelos will be built in Cuernavaca; further south, the modernization of the Tlapa-Cuautla-Marquelia road.
He indicated that in 2026 a convention center for Morelos will begin to be built, at the request of Governor Margarita González, and the Carlos Calero hospital will be recovered to work again.
At the beginning of the act, the president was interrupted several times by relatives of the young Andrea Chino Ramos, 22, who disappeared last June and was located lifeless in August, buried in a property owned by Ricardo “N”, a former sentimental partner of the young woman; Family for victims of violence in the State also participated in the protest, who have not obtained justice. The president told her that she would attend them at the end of the act.
