“For this year, we expect greater demand in both national and international destinations and for this, travel agencies have been preparing and adapting their supply of products and services, aligned to the needs of Colombian families,” Paula Cortés Calle, Executive President of Anato explained.
Expected growth in mobility and sales
The calculations based on migration figures Colombia and Anato indicate that the volume of travelers for this season will amount to 777,000 people, a figure that reflects an increase of 6% with respect to the same period of 2024. The projected behavior is due to both the dynamism of national trips and interest in international destinationsthat have maintained sustained growth throughout the year.
El Dorado International Airport, In Bogotá, it will be the main point of immigration control, concentrating 61% of the displacements. It will be followed by José María Córdova airport, in Medellín, with 17% participation, and Rafael Núñez airport, in Cartagena, with 7%. Regarding receptive tourism, foreign visitors who will enter Colombia will mainly come from the United States, Mexico, Ecuador, Peru and Chile. These markets have remained stable as travelers to the country and represent a significant part of international tourism that arrives during holiday seasons.
National destinations with greater influx
In the internal panorama, Anato said that the main destinations that will receive visitors will be Cartagena, Santa Marta and San Andrés, followed by the coffee axis, Medellín and Bogotá. These territories stand out for their offer in Sol and Beach, Cultural Tourism, Nature, Adventure and Welfare, segments that concentrate the interest of families who take advantage of the school break to travel within the country.
“From the guild, we estimate that Cartagena, Santa Marta and San Andrés, as well as the coffee axis, Medellín and Bogotá, will host the largest number of travelers. Likewise, according to the results that have been obtained in the run of the year on the sales of travel agencies, we hope the growth path continues, with an increase of 6% compared to the same period of 2024, Cortés Calle said.
The union leader also stressed that the commercialization of tourist products will be marked by the diversity of experiences, ranging from the enjoyment of beaches to cultural and nature tours. The interest in modalities such as well -being tourism has also grown, and is expected to have a relevant participation in Colombian’s travel decisions.

The data confirms that, in the internal field, the behavior of the travelers maintains a favorable trend towards traditional destinations of high demand, while other regions of the country continue to expand their participation in the season with differentiated proposals.
Sector challenges and perspectives
The growth projection for the break week is added to the positive results recorded in the run of the year. Travel agencies have reported stable behavior in their sales, which reinforces confidence in a sustained increase in tourist mobility in Colombia.
The guild, however, acknowledges that there are still challenges in the consolidation of a diversified offer and in the need to strengthen air and terrestrial connectivity. “We have an important challenge as a sector and is to strengthen and expand connectivity in a sustained way and continue diversifying the offer towards increasingly complete experiences for travelers,” Cortés Calle added.
The association reiterated that the projected growth is the result of the preparation of agencies to meet the demand of Colombian families, offering packages adjusted to their preferences and budgets. With the support of the main airports and the constant flow of international visitors, the recess week is expected to consolidate as one of the most relevant seasons for tourism in the country.
