The climate crisis and the prevailing socioeconomic model are one of the issues that will be addressed in the field of popular discussion during the World Congress in defense of Mother Earth, to be held in Caracas, from October 9 to 10, 2025, as part of the important aspects to be treated for more than three thousand national and international delegates from 56 countries of the world.
Regarding the issue, many delegates proposed to discuss based on the following questions: climate crisis, a technological, financial or deeply political problem? Also, energy transition, do the Global South peoples have easy? Another like the reduction of greenhouse gases, do industrialized countries have real interest in committing to this pending task? And climate justice, is the responsibility for the northern countries and the countries of the South?
They also propose to talk about vulnerability to the impacts of global warming and other effects of the climatic crisis, is it the same for the rich as for the poor? And the extractivist model, can they cong have with the satisfaction of needs with respect to the rights of nature?
Recall that for two days Venezuela will become the epicenter of the global discussion of other central themes such as biodiversity at risk; the rights of Mother Earth; socio -environmental conflicts and human rights; pollution and waste; sustainable economy; environmental education and culture; intergenerational justice and youth; and international alliances and concrete actions.
This important event will be a prelude to the Conference of the Parties (COP30), to be held in November 2025 in the city of Bethlehem of the Federative Republic of Brazil, and will allow to unify criteria on urgent and transverse issues that affect the planet, through the integration of scientific, political, social, economic, economic and cultural perspectives.
