Sánchez’s version

The strategist reviewed the moments before the discussion, which originated after a controversial played in the eighth inning of the match between Sancti Spíritus and the island of Youth. As he explained, after the victory of his team came to exchange criteria with Rojas, which resulted in a verbal altercation.

“We are responsible for starting an argument,” said Sánchez, who said that in the midst of the insults “we fell into total disrespect.” The coach said that he never intended to attack with a bat, as he spread on social networks, and said he defended himself with an “exercise stick” in the middle of the struggle, which would have caused the injury to Rojas.

“I am aware and I feel responsible for all the attitude we had since we lost our composure and ceased to be coaches, pedagogues, educators, and with all lack of ethics we become a show,” he added.

“I’m not a murderer”

Sanchez denied that his goal was to harm his colleague: “I have never been able to try to damage a person’s health, although this aggression has been given for things that I already explained and whose consequences are not measured in the heat of the moment. It hurts to see that I am calling me as a murderer, cowardly, of many things that I am not really.”

The spirit manager said to wait for the decision of the National Baseball Commission (CNB), which opened an investigation with a period of up to 30 days. “I think they should be based on the facts and, if they determine that I do not direct more, they are those who have the power to do so, but not because the networks say it,” he said.

Waiting for the sanction

Sanchez acknowledged that the magnitude of the event has put his future into play in the Cuban ball. “I feel bad, but much more for the things that are said. Those who still have a little left of my reputation, I would like to keep it and not lose it,” he said, before collapsing in crying during the conversation.

The CNB has not yet offered an official pronouncement on the sanction that could be imposed on the director of Sancti Spíritus. It has only indicated that it will not act in the 64 National Series until the measures to be applied are defined.
