Journalist Leonardo Sakamoto is the next guest of the program Dr com Demori. In the chat, the reporter comments on the current political conjuncture of the country, especially the PEC of Armage and future elections, as well as addressing issues related to slave labor and attacks on press professionals. The attraction will air at 23h this Tuesday (30), on TV Brasil.
Leonardo Sakamoto has an extensive professional trajectory and currently works as a commentator at UOL, where he continues with political and behavioral analyzes, which have already been the target of fake newsbesides verbal and physical threats.
During the interview, Sakamoto analyzed the current political scenario. “Power is with them, because they have increased the amount of resources that generate within the National Congress, the amount of amendments that are passed on (…), and those who hold the budget have the power of the nation,” he explains.
In this sense, the journalist advocates the need to find new voices for the democratic field. “Brazil should have already generated successors, both left and right.”
To the Dr com DemoriSakamoto also recalls his work done in the dissemination of actions to combat work analogous to slavery in the country and talks about the cases he witnessed.
“Today, it is much more through the economic way than by the shackles. People are not chained by iron, but by debt, lack of money, abusive charges and horrible housing, without sanitary conditions,” he explains.
In addition, the journalist points out the difficulties in recognizing slavery situations today. “I participated in more than 12 rescues over the years and, in many cases, the person being rescued says: ‘I am not a slave, I am not black’,” he recalls.
For Sakamoto, it is not necessary to be left or right to be against slave labor.
“This transcends ideologies. It is necessary to be basically human, because this situation is one of the worst crimes against humanity,” he warns.
