The controversial brand presented arguments that did not convince the fans of the Ponqué.

A new controversy surrounds Frisby Spain, a company that was already in the midst of a legal dispute with the original Frisby Colombia chain for unauthorized brand use. This time, the controversy was lit after the launch of a malted from Chocoramoan emblem product of Colombian culture, whose company Ramo is the original manufacturer of the popular Ponqué.

The elaborated product was promoted through social networks worth 3.90 euros as part of the Frisby Spain menu, which generated a strong reaction among Colombian users, who accused the brand of improperly appropriating the country’s cultural and commercial symbols. “First the frisby brand is stolen, and now the chocoramo”it was one of the comments that most replied in X (formerly Twitter).

It should be remembered that Frisby Colombia had already publicly denounced Frisby Spain for using his name, logo and other visual elements without authorization. Now, the use of the name Chocoramo – registered march of Ramo – without any alliance or official permission has aggravated indignation. So far, Ramo has not issued an official statement on this situation.

In response to the Frisby Spain accusations he published an explanatory note in which he assured that his drink «Milkshake de Chocoramo is made with original producer of Chocoramo and Ramo. The mention of the brand is merely descriptive and does not constitute improper use ».

The Spanish brand added that like any operator “You have the right to acquire and use raw materials available in the market.”

This new episode intensifies the already tense atmosphere between Frisby Spain and Colombian consumers, who have made phrases such as “flavor is not copied” and “Chocoramo is not touched”, despite the clarification of the Iberian brand.
