Changes in the intention to vote less than 7 months for elections

The electoral campaign begins to warm up with some moves in electoral preferences. The latest Ipsos survey for America TV continues to place the mayor of Lima, Rafael López Aliaga, in the first place of the intention to vote.

The variation comes later. The Popular Force leader, Keiko Fujimori, with 7% – a less percentage point with respect to the previous measurement – is reached in second place by Mario Vizcarra, brother of the disabled former president Martín Vizcarra, which rises from 5% to 7%, helped by a deliberate impersonation that generates confusion in citizenship. In a previous Ipsos survey for Peru21, 71% of those who said they would vote for Mario Vizcarra did so referring to the former president.

On the other hand, Phillip Butters rises a point and now records 3%. César Acuña and Guillermo Bermejo appear with 2% and Alfonso López Chau goes to the group of “others”.

But nothing is said. Less than 7 months after the presidential elections, 62% say that they have not yet decided who to vote and that they could change their minds.

Power of Santiváñez

On the other hand, the survey reveals that for 74% of Peruvians the Minister of Justice, Juan José Santiváñez, has some, much or too much influence on President Dina Boluarte.

In addition, 92% consider that both he and the Premier, Eduardo Arana, should renounce their positions before the audios in which both are heard about alleged political favors.
