Santiago. President Luis Abinader said Monday that his government will take the necessary corrective measures to avoid repeating irregular practices such as those investigated in the alleged embezzlement to the National Health Insurance (SENASA).
The president indicated that the file was already delivered to the Public Ministry, which carries out the inquiries to establish responsibilities.
“We already gave the Public Ministry that file to do all the investigations of the place. And we are going to wait for that result,” Abinader said when consulted by the press during the weekly.
In that sense, he reiterated that his administration maintains a clear line against corruption and impunity, regardless of where the questioned actions come from.
“What the Government has to do and what we have promised, and what we are fulfilling, is that we do not accept acts of corruption and that we will disappear the impunity that for decades existed here, even in the case of actions of the government itself,” he emphasized.
Abinader said that, once the Public Ministry concludes the investigation, the Government will receive the necessary information to apply preventive measures and strengthen institutional controls.
“We are going to wait for the result of the investigation of the Public Ministry and that will also give us the information for the corrective measures, so that these types of situations do not happen again in the future,” he said.
The Head of State remarked that his commitment is to guarantee transparency in public management and that any official or public servant incurred in irregularities must respond to justice.
