Fasano on the LUC: "Let's be once again, obstetricians of history"

It was an inadmissible abuse of a backward ruling class that, at the same time as emptying the spring of the dreams realized in the last fifteen years, modified from the root through legal nonsense disguised as sadistic sarcasm, the conceptual warp of the country.
The vituperated patrimonial system sustained by a network of complicities was imposed in the emergency to protect the spurious interests of the “gold mesh”.
Of those 341 articles, the Uruguayan people felt offended by 135 of them, drenched in social rapacity. He will try to repeal them on March 27.
The essence of the unfair chromosomes of these 135 articles is based on social ridicule, economic sadism, punitive demagoguery, ethical scarcity, democratic stress, the aesthetics of mistreatment and corruption of the common sense.

Uruguayan democracy is stressed. And it will continue to be until March 27.

Sinking the scalpel into the interstices of the 135 articles of regressive restoration is not possible within the limits of this article, but it is the task of defining the nature of the cleavage of this conjuncture, that of identifying the main contradiction of the referendum on dignity, revealing the why of the how.

We cannot talk about the fatigue of power because President Lacalle Pou did not have time to get tired. He barely assumed he imposed the grotesque silencing all previous debate, opting for the lazy path of the parliamentary shortcut, decreeing urgencies on fifty issues, which had nothing to do with speed, violating even the Magna Carta of our Republic.

Fasano on the LUC: "Let's be once again, obstetricians of history"

Increases the intention to vote for the “Yes” to repeal 135 articles of the LUC

35% of Uruguayans would vote “No” to repeal 135 articles of the Urgent Law…

Rivers of ink have been wasted questioning those articles about citizen insecurity that will grow under cover of indiscriminate punishment and justice by their own hand, about unusual teaching without educators, about heartless express evictions, about number portability that will eventually bleed to our Antel pride of eastern telephony, on the free stone to the mafias to launder their felonies up to the amount of 100 thousand dollars every time they think of it, on the weakening and privatization of public companies, on the cutback of labor rights, on the defenselessness of wages, and on the reduction of the State where the public will be less and less public and the private more and more private, among dozens of other nonsense. All these disputed territories have in the LUC a philosophy consistent with the principles of that cohort of implacable political leaders: neglect the needs of the weakest, protect the strongest, applying a social Darwinism that violates the rights and freedoms of the most, to exalt the privileges of the least. That is the reason for the mess. How was the illegal LUC. In this they have been consistent with their ideas against the emancipation of the great majority.

The cleavage of March 27 is not today frontamplismo-antifrenteamplismo, government-opposition, although they are very close to that polarization. The cleavage is LUC-ANTILUC, because the LUC, in its formidable social and economic fraud, does not only affect the Frente Amplio supporters, it affects the vast majority of the Uruguayan people, whether they are against the Broad Front or its followers.

Let us deny the State without life, which is what these 135 articles propose. Where there is no State, the immediate consequence is the destruction of the weakest and the concentration of wealth in the strongest.

Let us also deny the supremacy of the raw material over the gray matter, which is what some of the 135 proposals seek. Let’s not let the moral and intellectual direction of society be in the hands of the gold mesh.

Let us seek to reissue the plebiscite of 1980 and the 1992 referendum, being the only country in the world that defeated in a popular consultation the attempt to privatize public companies, ordered by the father of our current president. Let’s make that lineage bite the dust of defeat again.

The most difficult accumulation in history is not the accumulation of wealth proposed by Lacalle Pou, nor the accumulation of forces proposed by the Uruguayan left, but the accumulation of ethical intelligence. The democratic ethic of this effort must be united with the marvelous aesthetics of the political maracanazo what it meant to have gathered almost 800 thousand thumbs to the lungs and against all the polls.

Let’s keep in mind that without a certain amount of emotional commitment it is very difficult to move mountains. A certain primitive magic, a certain mystical epic is required to achieve it, as we did with the 800 thousand voices that were heard in all corners of the land.

It is a truth proven by history that only by pursuing the impossible, as Max Weber said, what is possible at each stage is achieved. The 27 go if possible.

Democracies produce surprises but their highest finding is the reflection of civil societies.

Let’s lift the lids of the pots where the future is cooked. Let’s rediscover the thickness of social reality and let’s resurface the pains that are hidden in it.

Let us think with intelligent emotion, I participate therefore I am. Let’s turn the 135 articles that were imposed on us in the midst of secrecy into burned cartridges.

Let’s not leave untempered strings.
Let’s build a new Epiphany.
Let’s be obstetricians of history.
