The new judicial resource presented by the President Jeanine Áñez, To try to cancel his 10 -year jail sentence for the ‘Caso II’ case, “he is currently in review,” confirmed the president of the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ), Romer Saucedo on Monday.
He indicated that a magistrate is reviewing the resource after it was raffled to verify whether or not the appeal meets the admissibility requirements.
On September 17 it was known that the TSJ declared the first inadmissible Extraordinary Review of the Judgment presented by the ex -president.
“In the previous resource he presented, he did not meet the admissibility requirements, which is why he was rejected; however, he can present the times the person who is asking for the extraordinary review of review is necessary,” said Saucedo.
He said that The magistrate in charge of the case will issue some resolution of the second resource “although the deadlines as such do not foresee the procedure ”.
In a past pronouncement through its social networks, Áñez said that the nullity of his “illegal sentence” awaits because he assures that it was “the product of a process vitiated by inquisitors instructed by the MAS (Movement to Socialism, a party that has governed Bolivia for almost two decades)”.
In another publication the ex -president said that it was “convicted of a crime that never existed in Bolivia in a process full of illegalities.”
Áñez has been detained since March 2021 and his sentence corresponds to one of the judicial processes open for the crisis of 2019.
