He Government of President Dina Boluartethrough Ministry of Education (MINEDU)He informed that between 2023 and September 25, 2025 2,160 teachers and administrative processed or convicted of serious crimes were separated, reaching the highest figure in the history of the national education system.
According to the portfolio, 1,835 correspond to teachers and 325 to administrators that worked in 1,829 public and 331 private schools. Most of them (1,813) face processes for violation of sexual freedomwhile others are linked to Terrorism and Apology (98)Illicit drug trafficking (95), intentional homicide (41), kidnapping (36), sexual propositions to minors by technological means (29) and pimper -groove (13). There are also cases of child pornography, feminicide, human trafficking and sicariato.
The Minister of Education, Morgan Quero, said that the measures intensified between April 1, 2024 and September 25 of this year, a period in which 1,165 people were separated (1,000 teachers and 165 administrative). Of that group, 176 were definitively separated and 989 in a preventive way.
“Student safety is priority. We are going to clean the schools of bad elements and we will not allow them to be close to our children and young people”Quero declared, who said that his management will continue with these actions.
The separation of those involved is carried out under the current legal framework that covers the application of extraordinary measures to separate from the educational system to those who represent a risk for schoolchildren.
