Brazil takes 6 medals on the 2nd day of the Paralympic Athletics World Cup

The second day of events at the Paralympic Athletics World Cup in New Delhi, India, was again positive for Brazil. Brazil takes 6 medals on the 2nd day of the Paralympic Athletics World Cup

This Sunday (28), the country added six more podiums, highlighting the gold by Ricardo Mendonça in the 100 meters class T37, for athletes with cerebral palsy.

With the results, the country closed the day leading the general board, with 10 medals, three gold, five silver and two bronzes.

Ricardo Mendonça’s three -time world championship came with the time of 11s16. He was accompanied by another Brazilian on the podium: Christian Gabriel ran at 11s23 and took the silver.

  • The other medals in Brazil this Sunday were:
  • Rayane Soares – Silver in 100m T13 (visual impairment);
  • João Matos Cunha – Silver in the 400m T72 (Petra);
  • Kesley Teodoro – Bronze in 100m T12 (visual impairment);
  • Edileusa dos Santos – Bronze in the 400m T72 (Petra).

About the athlete in Paraná Edileusa, initially she had ended in fourth place but ended up climbing the podium to the bronze, after the disqualification of Spanish Judith Vila, for invading the lane next door.
