Dina Boluarte attributes the capture of ‘The Monster’ and congratulates the PNP
During the closing of Perumin 37 in Arequipa, President Dina Boluarte highlighted the arrest of Erick Moreno, aka “the monster”, and said that this achievement is the result of the management of her government. The president took the occasion to publicly congratulate the National Police of Peru for the international operation that allowed his capture in Paraguay.
Boluarte stressed that the action against the alleged offender was possible thanks to the coordination between the PNP and the Paraguayan authorities. He said that this fact demonstrates the ability of his government to face organized crime and reinforce citizen security.
However, their statements contrast for those provided by the Paraguay Police, who assured that from the PNP information was leaked to ‘the monster’ to escape the operations that were organized. Erick Moreno himself told the Paraguayan press that the Peruvian police served as a protection and confirmed that they gave him information about the raids to capture him.
